Farnham businesswoman, Deborah Kingsley has won Eagle Radio’s Inspiration in Business award – part of the station’s annual Local Heroes Awards event.
The award recognises business owners, employees and leaders who have worked hard to build their businesses and are also in the business of giving back to the community.
Deborah, who founded the communications and marketing agency KPC Creative Communications in 2004, received the award at a gala celebration evening in Guildford, and was commended for her enthusiasm, determination, support of the business community around her and her voluntary work.
“Debs started the business from scratch – with no clients, no budget and no guaranteed work. She has built a respected and energetic local business that now employs a team of marketing specialists and works for a range of significant clients, including private contractors and government agencies,” said Tim Brown, Digital Account Manager at KPC. “But she doesn’t just look for big clients; she’s passionate about helping smaller local businesses too, and she is an active mentor to her own team and to the business owners she works for.”
In fact, KPC recently won an award for its work with local business and visitor destination, Grayshott Pottery, becoming a finalist in the Tourism category at the Surrey Digital Awards. KPC re-vamped the company’s website to increase enquiries and orders from its online shop. In a short space of time, they increased events enquiries by 200% and created 500 additional sales in the Emporium.
Continual learning is also a big part of Deborah’s approach to business. She recently became a Certified Practitioner with Watertight Marketing – a qualification that usually takes one year to complete, but which Deborah completed in just 6 months so that she could get on with sharing the methodology and results with her clients.
“As the most recent recruit to KPC, I’ve already learned a huge amount from Debs,” commented Kim Rogers. “She’s always got something new to teach me, and is an incredible support and mentor. I find her drive to do the best for her clients really inspirational and it makes us all strive harder to do the best we can.”
“I’m absolutely thrilled to receive this award,” said Deborah. “Essentially, I love helping businesses be more confident and successful – whether that’s through improving their internal communications, or showing them how to think strategically so that their marketing is efficient, effective and actually brings results. It’s my job to work hard for my clients, and to keep learning something new every day. That’s something I want to pass on to my team, and share with anyone who wants to do things better.”
