Goodbye 2021, Hello 2022

December 2021

We’ve had a whirlwind year here at KPC – like a lot of creative companies, we’ve seen a significant increase in businesses wanting better marketing to help protect them from future crises and tap into new or lapsed markets.

We’ve supported existing clients through challenging times and welcomed new clients on board who are ready to get to grips with marketing in a strategic, focused and measurable way – our favourite type of client.

And we’ve had some fantastic opportunities come our way this year, showing that our contacts and partners really value our expertise and ability to deliver. These opportunities include an offer for Debs to become the Marketing Director for a highly successful international marketing system brand, and to consult on an electric vehicle start-up venture.

As you know, at KPC, our aim is to help businesses grow successfully by building strategies that work, and it’s great to have conversations with such a wide range of organisations about how we can support their growth.

Goodbye 2021...

Giving our clients a 2021 to remember:

Some of our clients have looked to re-assess their business models and strategies in 2021, following the pandemic, while others have been working hard to take advantage where possible of new opportunities. We’ve been working alongside them to bring in new business, raise their profile and critically, develop marketing strategies that support long-term growth. Here are just a few of our successes this year:

  • We launched a new website for Furlong Flooring. In the first few months, we saw a 43% increase in users, 53% increase in sessions, 124% increase in page views and 53% increase in average session duration. Furlong’s sales figures continue to exceed pre-covid levels.
  • We also developed a 36-page product brochure for Furlong Flooring, launched at The Flooring Show in Harrogate. Furlong Flooring’s current marketing and external presence has received critical acclaim from industry press. We’ve also taken on a leading role across all their assets, producing point-of-sale designs, magazine adverts, social promotion, weekly mailers and sales materials.
  • A consistent approach to the Cat Lift Trucks account resulted in a 26% increase in ranking keywords, a 21% increase in LinkedIn engagements and a 34% increase in Facebook engagements over the past 6 months.
  • New client Cascade Engineering has achieved coverage in some key industry publications.Alongside this our regular news updates and social media posts resulted in an eight-fold increase in social referral traffic. Website sessions have also increased by 86%.
  • Helped strategic risk management consultants, De-RISK, secure sales conversations with some strong leads. Our work on their brand, case studies and marketing assets which has fuelled our social approach on LinkedIn, has in turn helped them get in front of the right people.

Surrey Business Awards Winner

We were thrilled to win the Micro Business of the Year at the Surrey Business Awards in November. We were also shortlisted in the Professional Services category, which was particularly welcome – we’ve always seen strategic marketing and communications as a professional service and it was great to see this acknowledged by the judges.

We collected our award from the category sponsor, and the evening’s host, Natasha Kaplinsky.

A new home for KPC

We spent the last half of 2020 and the first half of 2021 without an official home, as we all worked from kitchen, dining room or study desks. As home working gave way to hybrid working and then to a yearning to be back as a team, with proper face-to-face brainstorming and planning sessions, we moved to a new office space.

Located next to Farnham station, with parking and access to meeting spaces, our new hub is light, bright and nestled with lots of other local businesses. We welcome guests anytime.

We’ve also grown our team of associates so we can offer a complete range of tactical support to our clients. This includes some fabulous graphic designers, social media experts, web development and PR specialists. It’s great to be able to offer a flexible team approach to all our clients.

Kim is moving on ...

After four years with KPC – almost to the day – Kim has taken the next step in her career. She joins a very lucky Bloor Homes, taking up an in-house role as Marketing Manager for the Southern region. We know she will be a brilliant addition to Bloor’s team and we’re looking forward to keeping an eye on her progress! Kim says:

Kim

“Working at KPC for the last four years has been an absolute pleasure. I’ve learnt so much from my time here, not only from all the training I’ve been given access to, but also from Debs, and the wider team, who are all experts in what they do. There is no doubt that the skills I’ve been able to develop at KPC have been invaluable in securing my next career progression.

I’ve been lucky to work on so many great client accounts. Our clients come from a variety of sectors, and it’s meant I’ve learnt how to quickly turn my hand from one topic to another. It’s also given me a breadth of experience across a wide range of industries and marketing disciplines.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at KPC and have no doubt that future employees and associates will find the opportunity as valuable as I have. I’m excited to see all the great things KPC do in 2022 and onwards!”

Kim’s highlights include:

  • Being nominated by the team, and making the shortlist for ‘Employee of the Year’ at the Eagle Radio Awards.
  • Having the opportunity to work on, and manage huge projects like the launch of the Furlong Flooring website.
  • Being able to deliver valuable insights via our client review documents - interpreting the data and using insights to influence marketing decisions.
  • Accepting our Award of Excellence at the PRCA Awards at the Emirates Stadium in 2019.
  • Styling photoshoots for Grayshott Pottery and Surrey Ceramics.
  • Knowing more about a Cat forklift truck than almost anyone else.

So, here’s to 2022

After the extreme challenges of the past two years, like most businesses, we are looking forward to a bit more stability and building up our face-to-face working. Next year is the year of the Tiger which signifies adventure for the brave, and with our new clients, new offices and expanding team, that’s exactly how we’re feeling.

For us, 2022 will be about using our expert team to plan and deliver measurable marketing strategies, with an emphasis on working closely together, being part of the team and being truly invested in success. A focus on collaborative strategy where we bring in the best people to achieve results will mean that anyone working with us in 2022 and beyond will feel secure in our support and optimistic about the future.

Watch this space … and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a productive and prosperous 2022.
